Olena Harahuts,

My name is Olena Harahuts. I was born on the thirtieth of May, 1974 in Dnipropetrovsk. Citizen of Ukraine.
I have secondary education, graduated from Dnipropetrovsk secondary school № 86.
Among the first fifty Ukrainian civic leaders and journalists studied for 10 days in USA in the program of Congress «Open World» (Washington and Atlanta) in December, 2003. Also trained in «School of editors» in the project «Local media as a tool for the democratization of Ukraine in the context of EU standards» and took part in trainings MEDIANEXT of «Internews-Ukraine» and Regional Press Development Institute.
In 1994-1995 years worked as a reporter at the radio station «Radio Premier», wrote articles in newspapers «Trading house», «Arguments and Facts in Ukraine» and others.
From 1996 to March 1998 worked as the head of the department of journalism investigations, deputy chief editor of «Popular newspaper», was co-founder of newspaper «Popular hazeta-super – Local life».
From June 1998 – director, chief editor of «Litsa».
Newspaper «Litsa» is published on Wednesdays. Weekly circulation – 5 thousand copies.
From September 2007 to February 2010 was a member of the Public Council Human Rights Department at the Ministry of internal affairs in the Dnipropetrovsk region.
Since September 2014 i am the head of the NGO «Lustration Anti-corruption Council of Pridniprovya».
In December 2014 received a letter from Acting Mayor of Dnipropetrovsk – «for active citizenship, productive social activities and faithful serving to the local community».
From August 2015 to August 2017 – the head of the «Committee to work with media and NGO’s» of Public Council of the Dnipropetrovsk regional state administration.
In 2018, our media team under my guidance created and published a 15-minute video film «Corrupt pensions or Three corrupt schemes to get a pension» for OPEN Media Hub.
In November 2018, among the nine Ukrainian media leaders, I visited Germany (Berlin, Leipzig, and Halle). The visit took place thanks to the project «re: start democratic discourse», which was implemented during June-December 2018 by the Ukrainian Regional Press Development Institute in partnership with the European Center of Press and Media Freedom (ECPMF) from Leipzig, with the support of the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The purpose of the project is to strengthen a democratic society and to create effective long-term cooperation and communication between the Ukrainian and German media sectors.
In December 2018, passed training in the Case Study «Effective Anti-corruption Solutions» by WikiInvestigation.org project, funded by the Innovation and Development Foundation (IDF) with the support of the European Union.
Have no criminal record.
